Terms of purchase

These terms govern the purchases you make in the KSE Academy shop (kseacademy.com/en/shop). Please read them before buying: by completing payment, you confirm that you have read and accept them. The version that applies to your purchase is the one published on the day you made it.

1. Who is selling

KSE Academy is me: there is no team behind it. I have created everything you buy in the shop and I look after it personally.

2. What I sell

Digital books and materials. Guides and practice books for official English exams in PDF, score calculators in Excel (XLSX) and, with some books, audio files in a ZIP file. There are no printed editions: everything is a download.

Writing corrections. I personally correct the Writing tasks you send me and return a report with marks and comments based on your exam’s criteria (see section 7).

To use the materials you need a PDF reader, Excel or a compatible program for the calculators, and a program that unzips ZIP files for the audio. They work on computers, tablets and phones.

3. Prices and taxes

Prices are in euros (EUR) and include VAT where applicable:

• Digital books: 4 % VAT.
• Excel score calculators: 21 % VAT.
• Writing corrections: exempt from VAT, as a non-formal education service.

I apply Spanish VAT to all buyers in the European Union. If you buy from outside the European Union, you pay the same price, but without VAT.

The final price, with taxes and discounts applied, is shown in the order summary before you pay. There are no shipping costs or other charges.

4. How to buy

1. Add the products to your cart and click «Checkout».
2. Enter your email and your name. Check the order summary: you can remove products or correct your details before paying.
3. Tick the box asking for immediate access to your purchase (see section 8).
4. Choose your payment method and click «Pay».

When you finish, you will receive a confirmation email with your order summary, and another one with access to your files. These emails are your receipt: keep them. Your order is also stored in your customer dashboard.

You can buy in Spanish or in English: the contract is made in the language of the page you buy from.

5. Payment

You can pay by card (through Stripe) or with PayPal. Payment is processed on their servers with encryption: I never see or store your card details or your PayPal account details.

By paying, you confirm that you are authorised to use that payment method.

6. Delivery of digital books and materials

Delivery is immediate. As soon as payment is confirmed:

• You receive an email with a button that takes you to your customer dashboard, where your files are. The button signs you in directly, with no password. If the link has expired, open the dashboard, enter your email and you will receive a code to sign in.
• You can download your files as many times as you like for 7 days from your purchase. After that, download access closes.

I recommend downloading your files as soon as you receive them and saving them on your computer or in the cloud. If you have any problem with the download, email me at [email protected] with your order number.

7. Writing corrections

What is included. For each task, you receive:

• a PDF report with your mark for each assessment criterion of your exam and comments on what you do well and what you need to improve;
• your text annotated and corrected in a Google Docs document.

You receive both by email from [email protected]. If you cannot see my email, check your spam or promotions folder.

How to send me your tasks. After buying, you will receive an email with the instructions. Send me each task with the submission form, including the email you used to buy and your order number. One task is one text.

Format and length. I only correct texts typed on a computer and sent in Word, PDF or TXT. I do not accept photos or scans of handwritten texts. Each product page shows the maximum number of words per task for that exam. If a text goes over that limit, I reserve the right to ask you for a version within the limit before correcting it.

Turnaround. I return each corrected task within a maximum of 72 calendar hours (weekends and public holidays included) from when I receive it. If for any reason I cannot correct it within that time, I will let you know and you can choose between waiting for me to return it corrected later or getting your money back for that correction.

Packs. The corrections in the 3-task pack never expire: you can send them one at a time or all together, whenever you like.

Marks are a guide. I mark using each exam’s public criteria and my experience preparing candidates, but I am not an official examiner for Cambridge, LanguageCert, IELTS or the Spanish Official Language Schools (EOI). My Writing marks are an estimate of your level, not an official mark or a guarantee that you will pass.

8. Right of withdrawal

As a consumer, you have the right to withdraw from an online purchase within 14 calendar days without giving any reason. There are two exceptions that affect this shop:

Digital books and materials. At checkout, you tick a box asking for immediate access to your purchase and accepting that digital products can’t be refunded once downloaded. So, once you download a file, you lose the right of withdrawal for that product (article 103.m of the Spanish General Law for the Defence of Consumers and Users). I confirm this acceptance in your order email.

Writing corrections. With the same box, you accept that corrections can’t be refunded once delivered: you lose the right of withdrawal for each correction when I deliver it to you (article 103.a of the same law). If you buy the 3-task pack and withdraw within the 14 days, I will refund the part of the corrections I have not yet delivered.

How to withdraw. Email me at [email protected] within the withdrawal period with your name, the email you used to buy, your order number and the product you are withdrawing from. You can use this model, although it is not compulsory:

Refunds. Where applicable, I will refund you within 14 days from receiving your request, using the same payment method you used.

9. Guarantee: if a file is faulty

If a file arrives damaged, does not open, is incomplete or is not the one you bought, email me at [email protected] with your order number and I will fix it straight away by sending you the correct file. If I cannot fix it, I will refund you. This does not depend on the right of withdrawal: it is your legal guarantee as a consumer.

If you are unhappy with your purchase for any other reason, please email me anyway and tell me about it. I really value your feedback, it helps me improve my materials and, depending on the case, I may offer you a discount coupon for a future purchase.

10. Licence and intellectual property

All the materials in the shop are protected by copyright and belong to me. When you buy them, you receive a personal, non-transferable licence to use them for your own preparation. You may not:

• share, distribute, resell or publish the files, in whole or in part;
• copy or reproduce them for other people to use;
• use them for commercial purposes, for example in classes or language schools, without my written permission.

If you are a teacher and would like to use my materials with your students, email me and we can talk about it.

To protect my materials, I log the downloads made from the customer dashboard (see the privacy policy).

12. Data protection

I process your data in accordance with my privacy policy, which also includes the legal notice and the cookie policy.

13. Changes to these terms

I may update these terms to adapt them to legal changes or changes in the shop. Changes only apply to purchases made after they are published.

14. Governing law

These terms are governed by Spanish law. Any legal dispute will be resolved before the courts of Granada (Spain). If you buy as a consumer, this does not limit your legal rights: you keep the protection of the mandatory rules of the country where you live and you can go to the courts where you live.
