Below are the terms and conditions for enrolment and registration for all KSE Academy students. These conditions were updated on 14th September 2018, and will be applied immediately to all KSE Academy students, both new and already enrolled.

General Information

  • KSE Academy (Keep Smiling English Academy) is registered at c/ Arabial 4, local 2, bajo, under the name of Luis Porras Wadley, with NIF 25597415W.
  • KSE Academy is governed by the collective bargaining agreement for unregulated education centres.
  • KSE Academy does not offer officially valid certifications, as it is an unregulated education centre.
  • KSE Academy will issue, upon student request, a certificate specifying the service received by the student: type of service, total hours, level, characteristics, etc.
  • The student has 7 calendar days to withdraw from this contract without any financial penalty or sanction.

Course Enrolment

  • Courses (excluding intensive or special courses) have a duration of approximately 9 months and 3 hours per week, starting on 15th September and ending on 15th June of the following year, and largely follow the official school calendar of the province of Granada.
  • Courses are taught at KSE Academy’s premises, at c/ Arabial 4, local 2, bajo.
  • Groups have a maximum of 10 students and a minimum of 3.
  • KSE Academy reserves the right to close a group or not open it if there are fewer than 3 students enrolled.
  • Students can enrol in any course regardless of the start or end date. In this way, the student will pay the proportional part corresponding to the number of remaining teaching hours of the month for which they enrol.
  • Enrolment entails a charge of €25 or less (depending on offer or promotion) for administrative costs and place reservation. In case of withdrawal within the first 7 calendar days after signing this contract, the student is entitled to a full refund of the enrolment fees.
  • The student has the right to consult or request the calendar for the contracted course at any time.
  • Upon signing this contract, the student acknowledges having been informed of the teaching materials that will be used during the course, as well as their price. Said teaching materials will be at the student’s expense (unless otherwise specified) and can be acquired through KSE Academy, or at any bookshop or establishment that stocks them. The materials are necessary for the proper functioning of the classes, and photocopied materials may not be used at any time.

Monthly Payments

  • Course payments are made monthly, quarterly, or annually, either in advance (before beginning to receive the service) or within 10 calendar days after signing this contract. If payment is made monthly, the monthly fee must be paid between the 1st and 10th of each month. If payment is made quarterly, the quarter must be paid between the 1st and 10th of the month that begins the quarter.
  • The economic equivalent of Christmas and Easter holidays is deducted from the monthly fees for general courses, with Christmas understood as 2 weeks (1 week in December and/or 1 week in January), and Easter as 1 week in the month it falls each year. The payment for these months will be approximately 3/4 of the regular monthly fee to which the student is subject.
  • National holiday days (not included in holiday periods) will not be deducted from each student’s regular monthly fee. Examples: Constitution Day, All Saints’ Day, Immaculate Conception Day, Labour Day, etc. Nor will classes not taken during holidays be made up, unless the centre decides otherwise.
  • After each payment, it is the student’s/client’s responsibility to request and retain a receipt for the transaction.

Course Withdrawals and Refunds

  • The student can request immediate withdrawal from their enrolment at any time. Said withdrawal will take immediate effect provided that the student has paid for all hours of the course they have already attended. In the event of having paid for more hours than they have attended, KSE Academy will refund the student the economic amount equivalent to the number of hours paid for but not attended. The student may request said refund up to 7 calendar days after processing the withdrawal.
  • If a student misses 3 consecutive classes, they will be contacted to verify if they wish to keep their place or if they request withdrawal. If confirmation is not obtained, their withdrawal will be processed automatically after the fourth consecutive absence, and their place will become vacant.
  • If the student decides to withdraw for the following month, they must notify the centre before the 20th to carry out the necessary procedures and confirm that their place will be vacant.
  • If a student decides to withdraw during a month (maximum 2 consecutive), they must pay the minimum fee (€30) if they wish to keep their place.

Private Class Enrolment

  • Private classes are taught at KSE Academy, at c/ Arabial 4, local 2, bajo.
  • Private classes have a fixed hourly rate. Upon signing this contract, the student acknowledges having been informed of this price.
  • The schedule for private classes will be agreed upon between the student and KSE Academy, and reflected in this contract. Said schedule is flexible and subject to modification provided that both parties are informed and agree to the change.
  • Private classes are subject to KSE Academy’s timetable availability, teaching staff, and space. KSE Academy reserves the right to modify, with at least 24 hours’ notice, the schedule of private classes due to timetable availability, teaching staff, and space.
  • The use or non-use of specific teaching materials for private classes will be decided between KSE Academy, the teacher, and the student. If it is decided among the three to use teaching materials, these can be acquired through KSE Academy or at any bookshop that stocks them.

Private Class Payments

  • All private classes are paid in advance at the beginning of each calendar month. The classes to be given during the month will be counted and paid for in advance.
  • After each payment, it is the student’s responsibility to request and retain a receipt for the transaction.

Private Class Withdrawals and Cancellations

  • Private classes cannot be cancelled except for health reasons. The class will not be charged if a medical certificate is presented, and notice must be given before the class time. If a medical certificate is not presented, the class will be charged, and the student will lose the right to make up that session.
  • The student may request immediate withdrawal. This will take effect immediately, provided that the student has paid for the hours they have already attended. In the event of having paid for more hours than they have attended, KSE Academy will refund the student the economic amount equivalent to the number of hours that the student has not attended. The student may request said refund up to 7 calendar days after processing the withdrawal.
